Film is not dead it just smell funny
Sometimes, when I´m taking a photo, I think that maybe it’s a little bit "artsy fartsy". I do not like this craze for taking streetlamps abstract photos or images of somebody’s legs. They look to me empty and very few times they transmit me something with the color or the composition. When I took this photo I thought so. I also though "fuck, sure that this one will be selected in film is not dead…" So I took it… and it was selected.
Film is not dead… is the flickr group of *THIAPS, The International Analogue Photographic Society. Though I believe that they have irregular guidelines to select the photos, it´s one of the most interesting flickr groups with higher quality, and I recommend you to take a look and to visit the society web as well.
Since I started again with film, this is the second one selected. When I scanned it I liked the wall color and the composition. Maybe it’s “artsy fartsy” :) but… what’s the matter?
Ps: I didn’t forget the second part of the film-digital article. It’s coming soon.
*Update (August 2014): The THIAPS website is no longer on line and the flickr group links the Silverline Lane Traditional Film Photography platform.
